Spent the last two days just getting organized

Getting organized to leave Max here in Germany for the next three months or so, and getting organized for us to live out of a carry on bag each for the same time frame.

Yesterday, we just hung around here and did some tidying up. But today, we got up bright and early at 6:00am to do the half hour drive into the small city of Munster.

We went to Munster specifically to do our laundry. And we went early because the laundromat is right downtown and getting there early would ensure us a parking spot right outside the laundromat. And that's exactly what happened.

Also, it's a very minor bonus that the laundromat is a few cents cheaper before 10:00am. However, by the time the morning was over, we quickly squandered that bonus!

The parking outside the laundromat is pay parking on the street. And there are very old pay machines that have no legible instructions as to their use. And we had seen very few other people actually using the machines. I know, it's no excuse. But we just kind of got complacent and didn't pay for the parking.

With the laundry done, we decided to go for a walk around the downtown area. First, we stopped at the train station so we had a good idea of where we have to switch trains Thursday morning... we only have a 12 minute connection time, so we wanted to know where we would be getting off one train and on to the other.

Then we did the 4 km circular walk around the central area.

As far as small cities go, we really like Munster.

It was a gorgeous summer day!

Sunny and warm... it actually felt like summer! The high was 30C (86F)!

There is some kind of festival going on at Fürstbischöfliches Castle.

We're going to have to spend more time in Munster. In fact, we haven't spend enough time in Germany itself.

We arrived back at Max to find he (and several other vehicles) had a parking ticket.

€20. ($26 CAD, $20.30 USD). So that was kind of dumb of us. Not a disaster, but we learned our lesson. Won't let that happen again.

Back at the dealer in Dulmen, we continued to get things organized. The food is all used up, except for breakfast and what we're taking with us to Amsterdam Thursday morning. Ruth is totally on top of things when it comes to that!

We've got our train tickets bought (a long time ago actually) and we're ready to go!

Not sure when you'll hear from us again. It's going to be a kind of a whirlwind over the next few days! Hopefully we'll be able to update you from Amsterdam airport before our flight Friday afternoon.
