It was a blustery day!

Well, just an update about what's been going on around the park. We had a decent Canadian May long weekend. Quite a few of the seasonal campers moved their trailers in for the summer, and the weather was good for this time of year. We only had three or four day to day campers come in, but that's typical. Our park is usually fairly quiet until the water level in the lake rises.

Haven't seen our owls again. Haven't even seen remains of what they've been eating, which we usually do.

We've got most of the park cleaned up. Well, we did have until yesterday! The wind always causes some havoc around here, and yesterday was the day for that. All of SW Saskatchewan was under a high wind advisory with gusts up to 90 km/h (54 mph) in same places. I don't think it ever got that high down where we are, but it was sure windy at times.

A couple of big branches came down.

And lots of small ones came down too!

Yesterday was grocery day, so we went into town and did some shopping. Our grocery expenses seem to be getting back to normal after all the stocking up we had to do at the beginning of the month. Still, they are way higher than normal. We'll update you on all of that at the end of the month.

Later in the day, our new boat dock and our new swim raft showed up. It's going to be a good day's work putting it all together, that's for sure!

Good thing it comes with instructions!

Looks like another blustery day today... and a bit chilly. Calling for a high of only 11C (53F)!

  1. We had the same wind on the Island, weird 90-100km winds, wrecked a bunch of sailboats, weirdest thing was it was sunny the whole time. Knocked our power out for about an hour but no damage to our property

    1. Glad you didn't have any damage on your property. Luckily for us it was that one big branch and lots of small ones. It was windy again yesterday and in the afternoon we had rain as well. Never lost power though! :-)

    1. Seems to have died down a bit today but that could change as the day progresses.

  3. Hopefully the winds will die down and things should get ready for a good summer.

    1. I hope so! I tried to blow leaves yesterday and the wind was cooperating with the direction I was going but once I got them where I wanted them it was too windy to pick them up! :-(

  4. Another one of my favorite photos of yours in the header today! Hope the wind quiets down for you. We had quite the windstorm here in the north Cascade mts two evenings ago, too.

    1. Yes, I love that photo. We want to go back to Guatape again and explore that area more. It was beautiful and I remember us saying that we wished we had booked time there rather than just going for a day trip.

It was probably the same system that went through here. This morning it is nice and calm here, finally!

  5. I have a lot of understanding about windy days (and nights) Since we crossed into South Dakota a very days ago, it is blowing up to 25 MPH day and night:)

    1. Yep, the only nice thing about the wind is that it keeps the mosquitoes away! ;-)

Hope that you didn't have to drive in those windy conditions, that is not fun when you have an RV.
