Fortunately, this kind of thing doesn't happen very often

Went for a 5.5 mile (9 km) power walk before leaving Santa Anna, Texas. Not the most scenic area, so didn't take any photos. But at least we got some exercise in.

We woke up to a strong south wind that was forecast to get stronger as the day went on. We don't normally like driving Sherman on a windy day, but when it's a tailwind, we will take the extra gas mileage!

Ruth only took one photo the entire drive...

Ruth and I had been at Lake Fort Phantom Hill back in 2015 on our way south. At the time, we had stayed at Johnson Park at the north end of the lake. This time, we checked out Sea Bee Park at the south end of the lake, but we decided that the north end was better.

So we continued up there.

We parked in exactly the same place we parked last time we were here. Bob and Denise parked beside us, but left a gap in the middle. No point in being right beside each other when we have space.

Ruth got out and took some photos of an osprey that was gliding overhead...

We were just relaxing when a big expensive motorhome pulled up towing a vehicle. This guy had a quick look at the spot in between our rig and Bob and Denise's rig... and proceeds to pull his way in there.

So much for our nice boondocking spot!

Not only that, he goes ahead and fires up his generator and puts his air conditioning on. I guess because that's just what you do when you have a half million dollar motorhome. By the way, it was just a single guy with his dog.

To top it all off, he then used his automatic leveling jacks and got himself level so that he could... extend all four of his slide outs!

This would have been a tight spot to begin with, but now we couldn't have even put our awning out if we wanted to.

Now, it might have been a different story if he would have come and knocked on the door and asked if he could squeeze in there. I would have said "sure, provided you don't run your generator constantly". And we could have continued the conversation from there.

But he didn't. So we both moved. Good thing there was another available spot, because there aren't too many here.

Fortunately, this kind of thing doesn't happen very often. I can remember only a handful of times when we have had to move because somebody else invaded our space. The funny thing is, the guy probably doesn't even realize he did anything wrong.

Sherman's view of Lake Fort Phantom Hill.

Sherman and Sunny.

Buddy with his big expensive rig that we moved away from.
We can't stand generator noise.

View out Sherman's windshield at dusk.

Yesterday's drive.

Today, we head a little further north. Won't be going far though because they are still calling for strong winds... but now it is a head wind.

And in Canada...

    1. Us too! We haven't used our generator since the fall of 2011. We honestly don't have any use for it. We love the peace and quiet our solar panels give us too. :-)

    1. Who knows what kind of mentality he has but it isn't about peace and quiet and solitude or about how his neghbors might feel that is for sure! Very frustrating for sure, luckily we have wheels and had some place else to move too, not quite as level but it worked for the one night.

    1. Lol, maybe that was his way of getting the "neighbours" to move so that he could have the whole spot to himself!

  5. A bit of consideration goes a long way . Why would you park between 2 vehicles when there's loads of space. Hasn't he heard of social distancing !

    1. We absolutely agree with you but I guess some people just don't consider those around them.

Lol, we mentioned the same thing about "social distancing", I am sure he was parked close to that 6' mark!
