We have not yet been around the world

When our dog Whiskey was with us, we were pretty much limited to traveling in our motorhome in North America. And we were quite happy with that at the time. But when she passed away in the fall of 2011, we knew that would give us the opportunity to do more international travel.

And we have totally taken advantage of that! While we still love RV travel, we can now do it in other countries. We have RV'd in Africa, Europe, and Australia. And we have also taken many "backpack" style trips.

And when I looked at our flight map of the last 7 years, I was pretty impressed considering we did all of that while working in Canada for five months of 5 of those years...

And during that time we have been on 79 different airplanes and in 58 different airports.

But we have not yet been "around the world", because there is a big gap of zero flights between Europe and Asia, or vice versa.

We'll have to fix that one day!

And, we have no plans on stopping. Yes, we are flying to Ecuador next Sunday, and then Galapagos Islands the following Sunday. (You can see those flights marked by the white line in the above map because those flights have not taken place yet).

Then we fly to Austin, TX to pick up our motorhome on November 5th and we will do the four and a half month Mexico RV Caravan trip. After that... it's anybody's guess. We have a whole lot of things that we want to do, including buying an RV in Europe.

  1. Maybe you haven't' been all around the world (yet) but you're much closer than most people. Me included, only been to 20 countries so far. :c)

    1. Yes, you are probably right on that as some people haven't even left their own country. 20 countries, is still a lot of countries to some people. We really aren't too far ahead of you with our total country number being 37.

    1. Thank you Peter! We sure like to think that we are an inspiration to people, especially to those that don't think they have enough money to travel. We like to show people that you don't have to have a lot of money, just a lot of spirit and the gumption to do it on a small budget as well as patience and research. :-)
