And now I have two!

Clean up continues here at the park. We're definitely ahead of where we were last year at this time, although the rain on Monday and Tuesday was a small set back. Still, we'll be ready for campers next weekend.

Only thing that hasn't come together yet is our water. Even with the rain, the lake level has only risen about a half a foot in the last two weeks, and even though it will continue to rise it won't likely come to a decent level for another month yet.

And, although I've been taking reservations I haven't been able to put the deposits through because our electronic credit card machine wouldn't boot up when I first plugged it in. So, I called customer support and they couldn't get it working either, so they said they would send a new one by overnight courier. That was on Wednesday May 4th. It arrived yesterday, May 13th! Good job FedEx! (not!)

And what arrived along with it? A second credit card machine in an entirely different box.

While I had been on the phone with customer support, the girl had said that we were eligible for the free upgrade to a newer high tech machine. She assured me it would cost us no more money, so I said to go ahead and send it to us. I guess she put in that order, but neglected to cancel the order to replace our current defective machine!

So now we have two, although I'm sure they're going to want the other one back because she was also going to send prepaid packaging to send the defective one back. The prepaid packaging hasn't arrived yet either.

Anyhow, now I'll have to sit for a couple of hours and input all of the deposits.

Cleaned up and ready for campers.

Our leaf blower does a fantastic job.

Another nice day.

And, we're having perfect weather for cleaning up the park. Very little wind, sunny skies, and temps around 18C (65F).

And on that note...better get outside and get at it! Enjoy your Saturday!

  1. You can definitely see that rain greened up the grass a little bit. We've only had a tiny sprinkle in the last 2 weeks, kind of like a bird spitting on us. They instituted a fire ban this past weekend and I am sure water restrictions will be coming in the next two weeks. I am preparing myself for dead lawn again this summer.

    1. The rain really greened up the grass, it was definitely well needed! Gosh, I hope you don't have another really dry summer out there again this year. Hoping some rain comes your way soon.

    1. We are getting there but we still have lots of work to do to get it the way we want it.

Sorry to hear about your awning, hopefully the insurance will cover it for you.

    1. Our old one had a chip reader too, we have had them here in Canada for at least three years now. I think the difference with this one though is that it will read the new combined debit/credit card that have been coming out in Canada over the last year or so.

  5. What a pretty park! It's very peaceful looking. It has the same attributes as the places you are fond of in Mexico. Your guests are going to be pleased. I bet you have many return campers every year.

    1. It is a beautiful park and at the moment is nice and quiet but that will change once the July 1st weekend starts and then we will be packed and super busy until mid August or there abouts.

Yes, most of the campers return year after year. Many of them are locals and this is their weekend getaway.
