Yep, we're giving away some cash this time! We love doing these little contests, and it's been a while, so we're looking forward to seeing one of our regular readers pocket the cash! However, you can win even if you stopped by here today for the first time!

This time, we've partnered with DriveNow Australia who has sponsored this contest for you. It's pretty simple, so let's get to it...

You have four ways to enter, and anybody in the world can win!

1) You get one entry, just for being you!

2) Any of our facebook fans can get five entries each. If you're not a fan, you should be! www.facebook.com/TravelwithKevinAndRuth

3) Become a facebook fan at DriveNow Australia's facebook page and get another five entries! www.facebook.com/DriveNowCarHire

4) Visit the DriveNow website, and then leave a comment on our blog saying which city in Australia you would like to visit the most. Do these two things, and get yet another 5 entries!

So, you can get a total of 16 entries.

The contest starts now, and ends at midnight Wednesday night. We'll announce the winner on Thursday morning.

  1. Great contest. Thanks for the chance to win. I would love to visit many cities in Australia and New Zealand. In fact, those two places are top on my bucket list. However, if I have to choose just one, I would go with Sydney and travel from there to the Great Barrier Reef.

  2. One city wouldn't be enough. Friends in the south who teach skiing at Gingavine(sp?) to the barrier reef in the north, Australia would be a two month trip! Oh, and Tasmania as well!

    1. Perth is one place I for sure want to get to. Barry Marshall lives there and I worked with him when he was doing the ground breaking research that led to his 2005 Nobel Prize in Physiology. Can't wait to see him and his family again.

  16. You won't believe this! After I left my comment yesterday about wanting to go to Adelaide, a free cruise for two from Los Angeles to Sidney dropped into our laps. I booked it last night and on Sep 22nd we will be renting an RV in Sidney. Unreal. We are in shock.

    1. Wow, how lucky is that. That sounds like a fantastic time. You will have to let us know how you make out with that. How long will you be gone for?

      Delete
    2. Right offhand I think we will be gone for about 3 months. A lot depends on getting good deals on an RV and our return to the US. We also want to hop over to New Zealand if possible.

Looks like we won't be in our house next year for you to couch surf and to walk over to Pikes Peak and make the climb :(

    3. Sounds wonderful, I am sure that you will enjoy it so much. Don't forget to contact www..drivenow.com.au Australia about pricing. It's possible that they can give you a better deal because you will be using the RV for a longer length of time, also don't forgot that they have those one way deals too that you could take advantage of.

We probably wouldn't be in that area until April anyhow but even if you aren't there, there is always another time. :-)

    4. We will definitely check out drivenow.com once we know our departure date from Australia. Thanks for posting their information because it is going to be very helpful.

  17. We did Australia and NZ 2 years ago for 3 1/2 months. We rented a juicy van and did 3 houses it's to defray costs. It gave us the opportunity to spend some extended time in one place. We loved it all but still so much to see there.

  25. I think I'd love to visit Brisbane first. It seems like a thriving place where so much is always going on; I'd meet a lot of people I think I'd like, and then later, I'd re-visit - this time visiting some other less populous places, just to continue meeting people in other parts of the country, and to enjoy truly spectacular scenery. I just want to know what it's like to peer up at an Australian night sky that is covered with a mind-blowing spray of intensely bright stars, planets winking in and out of view, faint hints of faraway galaxies...
