On our way to Calgary

We are at Ottawa airport as I write this, waiting for our four hour and twenty minute flight to Calgary. This flight was a freebie, paid for with travel point from our Visa credit card. But, I still got a deal on it because it was on sale at the time for $210 each one way so I needed to use less points to cover the fare.

We will arrive in Calgary at around 10:20am, and will likely use Uber to make our way to the car rental place located about 20 minutes from the airport.

Airport rentals are almost always more expensive than other city locations. So I found one located just south of the city center for $108 CAD ($80 USD) for the 8 day rental. Great deal, even when you add on the expected $22 CAD ($16.50) Uber fee to get to the off airport rental location.

Then, for lunch we are meeting some fellow RV'ers in Calgary who are interested in traveling to Mexico. After that, driving to a friends house to stay the night. On Thursday we will drive to Cabri, Saskatchewan to spend some time there.

Yesterday, we went out for a fast paced walk... did 6 kms (3.7 miles) in an hour, so a great pace to get the blood flowing.

The leaves are starting to come out and things are getting more green.

A nice path through a pine forest.

Not sure when you'll hear from us again. We'll try for another blog post tomorrow morning from Calgary.

There's our plane!

Fast free wifi at the Ottawa airport.

Next stop... Calgary!
