Dripping with sweat!

Another warm day yesterday here in the Ottawa area. But it's the humidity that kills you around here. Same thing all summer.

After having spent the last five summers in Saskatchewan where there is very low humidity, we could never live in the Ottawa area again. So much more comfortable in Saskatchewan.

But, the humidity did not stop us from going out and getting some exercise. We drove down to the Morris Island Conservation area where there are some nice walking trails.

This year, they installed a parking meter at the trailhead! They now want $3 to park your car there. Apparently not everybody is happy with that because somebody took a can of spray foam and filled in the credit card slot on the machine so you can't pay. Until they fix it, parking is free. :-)

Really pretty with the leaves starting to change color.

Us, out for a walk.

 No wind at all!

Pretty scenery.

We did a 5 km (3 mile) walk at a decent pace, returning back to the parking lot in exactly one hour. Dripping with sweat!

Yesterday after supper, we drove down to the city again and spent the evening with our son Alex and his girlfriend CJ. Played a few games of Euchre, and they beat us 3 games to 2. Lots of fun and nice to spend some time with them.

A little bit cooler today, as the Indian Summer heat wave this area has been experiencing is just about over.

And in Canada...

  1. Lovely fall pictures. We are enjoying our first beautiful fall in a while on Vancouver Island, the past few summers due to drout the leaves dropped off and didn't even turn colour. We had a bit more rain this summer and now are enjoying a full colour show. Enjoy your family time!

    1. The colours here are definitely beautiful. The maple leaves are really what give it that extra colour because of the deep reds and oranges.

Glad to hear that you are having a good show of fall colours there this year, it makes fall that much better. :-)

    1. Yes, the fall colours are almost always beautiful here in Ontario. We still had a warm day yesterday but I think the cold is suppose to hit us either today or tonight.
