Thanksgiving Monday

While most of you were having a normal Monday, up here in Canada we were having Thanksgiving Monday! Yes, it was a holiday here in the great white north... and time to get together for a feast with the family.

Originally, we were just going to have our son and his girlfriend stop by for hamburgers. Then, Ruth spotted a turkey on sale for 95 cents a pound or so. And the next thing you know, we were pulling out all the stops for a big meal!

And so we had Ruth's brother over, and our son in law Justin brought the grandkids... and we went and picked up Ruth's dad at the senior's home and brought him back to his house.

Me and Chester the dog having a nap.
This was actually taken on Sunday!

But this was yesterday.
Sadie, Tony, Cameron, Justin, Brenda, Colin.

And on the other side of the table, Ruth, Kevin, Matthew, Alex, CJ, Sadie.
And Justin and Cameron. Cameron is always being a goofball... too funny!

Having a game of cards at Grandpa's house.

So, that was fun to get together with everyone again. We've only got a week left here in Ontario, and it's going to be a busy one. In fact, we've only got one free evening during the whole week, and that's tonight so we're going to just relax. Heading back into the city after lunch though. We're doing a travel presentation at the senior's building where my mother lives.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving!
I stumbled across your facebook page not long ago, which led me to your BLOG! We're always excited when we find BLOGS from other Canadian RVers! We've been RVers for over 20 years but we're still constantly learning from others, like yourself!
I was drawn to your posts about wintering in Mexico, so that's definitely something we're adding to our Bucket List :-) I had posted some questions in facebook regarding Mexico travel, and you were kind enough to supply me with some good information...thank you!
We are snowbirds from Saint John, NB and so far we've been content to winter in the American states along the Gulf Coast, but that may change...lol
Anytime you find yourself in southern NB, and need somewhere to boondock, feel free to contact me! You are certainly welcome to 'driveway surf' at our house...it's nothing fancy but it's free :-D

    1. Thank you! We hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well.

We are happy to hear that you are enjoying our blog but it sounds like you have been RVing longer than us! We have only been at it for 11 years and about to start our 12th, and as you say we are still learning things ourselves. :-) As for RVing in Mexico, just keep following our blog and see how we do things while traveling there and all the wonderful things to see and do. We love Mexico and we just never seem to get tired of it.

We hoping to head to Newfoundland next summer so it is just possible that we may stop by, providing you aren't too far off our route. Thank you very much for the invite. :-)

Have a great winter down south.

    2. Sounds great...I'll definitely watch your blog, lots of great stuff to be had there!
And yes, depending on your route to NFLD (southern NB vs northern NB), we are only 10 minutes from the highway :-)
