We are boondocking for the next couple of days!

Can you boondock in a developed campground?

Well here at Cabri Park you can!

We've been parked in a full hookup campsite for the last week and a half. And while it's been nice to have our electric heater on to take the chill off in the mornings, and have our fridge plugged into electric, and be able to use the office wifi... we really wanted to be parked in a nicer place.

So yesterday, we moved!

This is where have had been parked.

Sherman had been parked beside Steve and Jo's rig Harvey for the past week and a half. But Sherman really likes his space, and we knew he wanted to move somewhere with a nicer view. (No offense, Harvey!)

And we knew of a great spot. In fact, we had always said that if we ever came camping at Cabri Park, it would be at the point around the marina where we would be all by ourselves. There are no services, so I guess it's actually dry camping. However, we really are out in the boondocks (which is where the term "boondocking" came from... camping out in the boonies.

Yep, I think you could call this boondocking!

This is better!

So, Sherman is a happy camper, and we are happy as well. We can't pick up the office wifi anymore because we are almost half a kilometer away and there is a hill and lots of trees between us and the office router. But, our cellular internet connection works fine through our Winegard ConnecT 2.0, so we're okay here until we head out on Tuesday morning.

Yesterday when we were working, Ruth spotted a hawk. There seem to be a lot more hawks around this year, and perhaps that's because our owl isn't living here any longer. Anyhow, she took a picture of it before it flew away, but when it flew away she said it looked like it was carrying a snake!

When she looked at the photo, she realized that the snake was also in the photo, but she hadn't known it at the time...

Broad winged hawk with a garter snake.

Notice the blue sky in the above photos? We are back to great weather after two days of cool and overcast. Sunshine, clear skies, and warmth is in the forecast for the next several days!

  1. Those first three photos are great quality...did you get your new camera? Fourth photo is cool...wouldn't of noticed the snake unless you mentioned it.

I saw the hawk again the next morning and it had another snake, not quite as big as this one was though.

    1. It is nice that Kevin and I both like much of the same things but when a couple doesn't they you need to compromise and you and Suzie do that well.
