Another day accomplishing what we came here for.

We had another good day visiting with family yesterday. First on the agenda, we went and picked up Ruth's father in Arnprior and took him out to Wheeler's Pancake House near Lanark, Ontario. It's a bit pricey, but he likes the place and it's good to get him out for a drive in the country. About an hour and ten minutes each way on nice country roads.

Beautiful spring day, with sunshine and a high of about 25C (77F).

And, Monday was the Victoria Day federal holiday here in Canada, so we were hoping it wasn't too busy up there, but it was fine. Not really that many cars around since maple syrup season is over, but the place is open year round.

Wheelers Pancake House.

Beautiful spring day.

View of the bird feeder from our table.

Oops. Missed the focus on the pancake shot!

Lots of maple products for sale.

But, it's way overpriced. For example, we buy a 1 liter container of pure maple Canadian maple syrup at Walmart for $13.99 CAD. Here, they wanted $23.99.

Ridiculous.

But, if they can find buyers at that price, then all the power to them. As P.T. Barnum said, there's a sucker born every minute.

We dropped him off at the retirement home and we headed back to his house where we were meeting with Ruth's brother and nephew. Our son Alex was also coming by for dinner, along with son in law Justin with the grandkids.

We always enjoy the beautiful view from Ruth's father's house.

A rare photo of me with our son Alex!

And, one with Mom too!

Good thing they get along!

So, another day accomplishing what we came here for.

Today, we're going to tidy up the house this morning, then head over to my Mom's to do some errands for her. then, back to Lindsey's this evening, and flying back to Saskatoon tomorrow!
