Heading across the pond...

Well, here we are at Toronto's Pearson airport, waiting for our Sunwing flight to London's Gatwick airport. And, yes, they have FREE wi-fi throughout Terminal 1...assuming it is the same in the other terminals as well.

Had to check our bags. Sunwing has a strict 5kg weight limit for your one carry on item. So we took Ruth's little laptop out and sent our bags off into the great abyss of airline checked luggage ...hopefully we will see them again!

So all we have is the clothes on our backs, the little laptop, the camera, our wallets, and our passports. Oh, and a water bottle that we took through security empty so that we could refill it from the water fountain. You don't want to be paying $2-$3 for a little bottle of water!

Waiting for our flight...see you in London!

  1. Already? Seems like yesterday you were booking the tickets! Have fun!!!!

  2. have a great flight..see you from the other side of the pond!!

  3. I think I'm almost as excited as you guys. Have a great flight.

  4. Ahhhh new adventure! never thought of taking an empty bottle through security and then filling it at a fountain... GREAT idea!

  5. Safe travels. I will look forward to your adventures.

  6. Ah! Free wifi. That's great.
Seems to me once upon a time it was so much a minute, but it's nice to see the Toronto Airport Authority has been dragged kicking and screaming into the New Age.
I kind of wondered about Sunwing and their baggage issues.
This is why I travel with the little "man bag" (no pun intended) since I once had to check a bag that was 'carry on' when I went, but was then suddenly too big on the return trip. ?? Forgot that my apartment keys were in there! Had they lost my luggage, I would have been screwed. Those keys are now in with the rest of the "essentials".

Hope your flight is/was just fine.

  7. Enjoy the flight and hope your luggage arrives with you.

  8. Well, by now, you are there. Enjoy!

  9. Brilliant idea re the empty water bottle, never thought of that.

  10. Can't wait to hear all about your next adventure. I agree that water bottle tip is a great one.

  11. You look so happy and ready for a good time!!!
