Just an update...

We've been meeting with friends the last few days. And lots more of that to come over the next three weeks. And yes, it's only three weeks until we fly to Mexico City!

We spent some time with my older sister on Saturday. She was in a car accident on Friday, and I thought I might be able to help a little bit given that I spent twenty years in the collision repair business.

So we went over and looked at her car. She had driven it the short distance home, but probably shouldn't have. There was a tow truck on the way over to take it to the collision reporting center.

Off to the body shop.

I was going to say "unfortunately" it's not economically repairable, but she had been thinking about getting a newer car anyhow, so maybe this has all worked out okay because it's highly unlikely they will fix it. It was a 2015 Honda Fit, but she only drives around town and so it only had about 80,000 kms (50,000 miles) on it. For a Honda, it's only just broken in!

The area we are staying is fairly high end... but we are in the "poor" section. The home we are in was probably built in the 1990's during the phase one development of this land. The homes are still very nice, and on two acre land plots. But as they have developed the newer phases, the homes have become bigger and more expensive.

Yesterday, we walked around phase nine, and came across this monster...

It's huge... we joked that it must be a hotel, not a house!

We've been really lucky with the weather since we arrived in Ottawa. It's been blue sky and sunshine with temperatures about 24C (75F). Supposed to be slightly warmer for the rest of the week.
