We've got some catching up to do...

Yesterday, the Mexico RV Caravan group carried on from Villa Corona to the Pacific coast beach town of Melaque. They are in for a five night stay at Laguna del Tule Hotel and RV Park.

Because they are there for five nights, we want to arrive there by Monday at the latest because they move on again on Tuesday. That means we've got some catching up to do.

They are now 931 kms (578 miles) away.

The group is now 931 kms away.

Fortunately, a lot of that distance is on major 4 lane highways. The Arco Norte around the northern part of Mexico City, and then the major route between Mexico City and Guadalajara.

But first, we need Sherman finished.

The mechanic didn't show up until about 11:30am yesterday morning. And he's not the quickest to begin with, but I keep remembering that he's doing it all with hand tools. Then he had a problem with one part and disappeared for a couple of hours. I think he went for a siesta! He returned here at 5:30pm, and finished up around sunset.

So, the right side (the broken side) is ready to go. But I still want the lower ball joint on the other side changed as well. He knows that, and so he left all of his tools behind saying he would be back this morning. We don't know if that means first thing this morning, or 11:30am again!

Hopefully we can get a couple of hours driving in this afternoon, but that is yet to be seen.

    1. Yes, it definitely does and we are trying really hard to not be impatient but sometimes it is difficult.

    2. He went down to Melaque yesterday to pick up a regen setup for his diesel engine and took the bus back to Villa Corona. They were going to try that this morning. We'll hopefully know in about an hour.

    1. It was a cliffhanger again yesterday! We didn't get on the road yesterday but will be this morning, however there was a point yesterday that we weren't even sure that was going to happen.

  5. I’m praying that Sherman gets fixed in time for you to catch up with the group in Melaque and get a bit of rest before you leave on Tuesday. Safe travels.

    1. Lol, no, there won't be any of that. Sherman only speeds when he's going downhill with a tailwind!
