A little busier here at the park

Things are getting a little busier here at the park. It's been a quiet start to the year given that our water level is abnormally low and isn't expected to get much better than it is. But, we still have lots of reservations for the next six weekends as summer gets into full swing.

And it's been a much wetter start to the year as well. It seems that every four or five days we get a decent rainstorm. I'm pretty sure the local farmers are really happy about the farming weather so far this year!

And speaking of rain, that's exactly what it's doing right now. Pouring down, with lightning and thunder.

Coho the cat.

Our summer pet is doing fine. Coho is a pretty good cat actually. He sure is a smart little guy. I've never been much of a cat person as I much prefer dogs. But this one could grow on me. If he would only keep his sharp little claws away from me! He is definitely still a kitten and is a bit of a pain sometimes.

He must be doing a good job on the mice since we haven't seen any since he arrived on the scene!

We bought him a little laser pointer at the dollar store last week. Sure is funny watching him chase that little red dot.

New Ape Case camera bag.

I got another package in the mail this week. A new replacement camera bag. The zippers on the last two bags that I had bought from this brand didn't last beyond the warranty period. I sent photos in, and they came good for another bag. This one is slightly larger which I would rather have had the same size, but they thought maybe the larger size would put less stress on the zipper. Okay, I'm willing to give it a try. Maybe the extra room will be convenient. I guess we'll find out on our trip to Romania this November.

That's about all the news for now. Have a great Saturday!

    1. I would much rather have 90s than 30s ;)

    2. Yes...but I'm pretty sure she was talking about 30C (86F)...

    3. That is what I was thinking Kevin..

    4. Lol, I know. 30s Celsius are pretty equivalent to 90s Farenheit, so I couldn't resist. Which is colder, -40°F or -40°C?

We have been in the 90s up here in *northern* Arizona at 6000ft for the past week, very hot for this area. But typical for Yuma, so I am quite used to it. A day in the "real" 30s would be horrendous ;)

    5. I figured you were just kidding. I am metrically "bilingual", but most people are not. Of course -40 is the same either way. :-)

  2. I sure love those pix of Coho! We need a video of him chasing the laser.

  3. Coho is such a cute cat. Great news on the camera bag. We have a powerpoint laser for our company and when it gets really dark out hubby takes Buddy out in the yard and lets him chase it for 10 minutes - he sure burns around after it. I never knew dogs liked that kind of thing until we got Buddy.

    1. He is a pretty cute kitty! I don't think I have known a dog that went crazy for the laser pointer either. Glad that Buddy has a good time with it though!

  4. Wheen you use an old picture for the header, it's fun trying to ID the location before scrolling down. I had this pegged for Colombia. Wrong!

    1. Lol, even I do that when Kevin puts up a new "old" header picture! :-)

  5. Watching a cat chase a laser beam has to be one of the funniest things ever! Enjoy!

    1. Yep, it sure is! Now when coho sees Kevin reaching for the laser pointer, he is already looking around to find the red dot.
