Sharon and Arnie ran the canteen and concession here at the park and of course they work pretty long hours during the summer. Now that the hard work is pretty much over, they're taking this week to relax a little bit and wanted to spend some time on their pontoon boat so they invited us to join them. The park is so quiet with everybody back to work and school that we decided to relax a bit too!
It was a nice blue sky morning, but it's starting to feel like fall weather. A bit chilly, and you still needed a sweater out on the water.
Here's our ride coming to pick us up.
This is what our park looks like from the water.
The cows are relaxing too!
Just putting along.
Captain Arnie, Ruth, and Sharon.
Their dog Angie came along as well. She's such a good girl. She likes to rest her head on the railing and just watch the world go by.

Notice in the two pics above, the odd formation in the rocks above our heads. It looks like a crocodile or a fish or something. Apparently it was a lot more pronounced last year and photos were even sent to a local paleontologist or something to find out if it was a fossil of some kind. But they say it's just an odd rock formation.
Looks like a crocodile to me!
We wanted to get back to shore by 1:00pm because Ruth was cooking a 13 lb turkey and had to get it in the oven. We had bought it on sale a few weeks ago but decided to wait until now to cook it. We invited Sharon and Arnie to join us for dinner.
I spent a couple of hours in the afternoon sitting on the mower. The grass has been growing like crazy because of all the rain we had, and they were calling for more rain last night and today, so I figured I had better get the grass trimmed or it would really need it if I waited until Thursday.
We had a great dinner with roast potatoes and stuffing and all the trimmings. Felt like Christmas dinner!
Roast buzzard, as Arnie calls it!
Today is cloudy and rainy so we're going to go in to town together and do groceries and some running around.
