Cavendish KOA Campground

Saturday July 5…9:00am

We decided we’ll only do occasional updates until we leave here sometime around August 10th.

We’ve finally had some decent weather. Not hot, but daytime highs in the low 20’s (70F) or so. Thursday was REALLY windy all day, and we thought our add-a-room was going to blow away. It did actually come unhooked at one spot a few times, and the gusts were a little hard on the fabric, but it’s all still there! Friday and today are really nice though…clear blue sky and just a light breeze.

“Work” has been going well. The hardest thing we have to do is the garbage bins and clean the firepits which we do on Wednesdays (once a week) and it takes about 3 hours. Otherwise, the stuff we have to do is not really work. We look after the petting farm once a week…they have a piglet, a sheep, a goat, a few kittens, and a few rabbits. They’re supposed to get a calf too, but it’s not here yet.

We rode our bikes over to PEI National Park. Cavendish Beach is only about a 10 minute bike ride, and then there is a trail system near Cavendish Campground that we biked. We did about 17 km’s.

We met the other workamping couple in the park. Geoff and Fran also live fulltime in their motorhome. They invited us over for coffee and apple pie one evening, and it looks like we’ll get along just fine with them. We’re going to teach them how to play euchre.
