More progress on our house

We received the rest of the wall art we had ordered, so now it was time to figure out where to place it.

When family was here last month, Ruth had son in law Justin install some shelves in the kitchen. And there had been some other "art" on the walls that needed to go.

So, here is the finished product in our kitchen...

Our place will be empty for the month of April if anybody wants to rent it! 13,000 pesos ($1,000 CAD, $740 USD).

And we got the photos on the wall of our bedroom too.

They came out really well.

So, the house is 95% done. We still have to figure out what to do with our entranceway that has become a sort of a storage area. And we want to clean up the patio area, maybe buy some plants and do some painting out there. But there's no rush for any of that.

We went into nearby El Arco to buy some paint supplies yesterday.

Ruth, painting Igor's kitchen cabinet.

I was going to bring the countertop to the same guy who built our kitchen sink cabinet and countertop to see how much he would charge to build a new countertop for Igor. But then our host Chago came by, and he said he knew a guy... he disappeared with the old countertop, but we haven't heard back. So we're not sure what's going on with that. It doesn't matter, so long as everything is ready to go by the end of the month!

There was a party on the marina property yesterday afternoon... we had live music for an hour or so! Turn your volume up...

And in Canada...

    1. Justin didn't actually make the shelves, they were already here when we moved in but he did install them for us. He likes to keep himself busy so that gave him something to do otherwise Kevin would have eventually got around to doing it.

We are really happy with our new pictures, they certainly make the place feel like home now. If feels really cozy here now that most of the work is done. Anything else will just be decorative stuff.

  2. Love all the new artwork, and especially how you arranged it in the kitchen. So bright and cheery! And your kitchen in general looks great. I love a big window over a kitchen sink. Good job guys! Hope the countertop will be a happy surprise!
