Flights within Canada are ridiculously expensive!

I bought some more flight tickets yesterday... but only for me!

My annual guys weekend away is taking place in St. John's, Newfoundland this year... September 1-5.

Our original thinking was that Ruth would join me there either before or after the event for some exploring and hiking, however it's not going to work out. We still want to do our annual house sit in Ottawa in September, but the hosts can't confirm the dates yet, and Ruth may end up starting it without me.

Mexico City to Toronto in August.

We're going to be flying Mexico City to Toronto in August. I haven't booked the tickets yet because we're wanting to help our daughter celebrate her 40th birthday (yikes!) and she's planning on visiting our son around that time so hopefully we'll be having a family get together then. But we're still waiting to hear back on the exact dates.

Then she'll have her van with her and we might be able to hop in with her for the drive to Halifax. We'll stay with her until I fly by myself from Halifax to St. John's on September 1st.

Ruth will make her way back from Halifax to Ottawa alone, and we'll meet up there.

Man, flights within Canada are ridiculously expensive though. The one way two hour flight from Halifax to St. John's is $371 CAD...and that's without a carry on bag! It's costing more than the five hour flight from Mexico City to Toronto! Then another $426 CAD to fly direct from St. John's to Ottawa on September 5th.

Oh well... it's only money.
