Ruth and I went for an 8 km (5 mile) walk from the house into the nearby town of Wolfville.
There's a walking path the whole way, but it's closed due to the fire risk. Totally ridiculous. So we had to walk beside the main highway. There is a sidewalk, so it's not that bad, but not as nice as the other path that is closed. They're calling for rain on Monday, so hopefully that will be enough to remove the restrictions.
The tide is all the way in.
Things are nice and green at Willow Park.
They obviously have a sprinkler system.
On the way back to the house, we stopped in at Hennigars Farm Market. They are well known to have the best ice cream cone prices in the area. There's always a line up, especially on a nice Saturday afternoon. Prices have gone up since last year though, which is not surprising.
They have one scoop for $3, two scoops for $4, and three scoops for $5. The pricing of course makes no sense. So rather than order two one scoopers with an extra dollar for a gluten free cone, we ordered a two scooper and a cup and spoon for another 30 cents. So instead of paying $7, we paid $4.30 for the same amount of ice cream.
Granddaughter Sadie's 12th birthday is coming up next Friday, but we fly to Ottawa on Thursday. So we're doing a family birthday party this afternoon with some of her cousins.
