A gorgeous day at Charleston Lake Provincial Park

We were up early, packed a lunch, and hit the road at 8:30am Friday morning. It was a two hour drive to Charleston Lake Provincial Park where we were meeting friends Bob and Denise for a day of hiking!

And there wasn't a cloud in the sky all day!

We paid the $18 (!) for day use parking, and met Bob and Denise at the trailhead.

They are one of the couples that we took to Mexico for our RV caravan tours. They did both trips with us in 2019 and 2020. Hard to believe that was more than six years ago. We've seen them a few times since, even meeting up in the Canary Islands for a weekend! But it's been about two years since we last saw them.

Ruth, Denise, and Piper.

Piper is their new pup... they've only had her for about five months.

Funny tree.

Scenery along the way.

At the lakeshore so that Piper could go for a swim.

Ruth, about to throw the stick for Piper.

Piper is a good swimmer.

Such a perfect day. Temperature about 21C (70F).

Ussie at the lookoff.

There are a lot of pretty spots at Charleston lake.

Scenery along the way.

Lots of little islands on the lake.

We ended up doing 13.9 kms (8.6 miles). Not a lot of altitude change, but still a great day of hiking... with great weather and great company!

And in Canada...
