Nashville

Monday April 13…11:30pm

Got on the road before 7am, and visited a couple of the nature sites along the last section of the parkway. We were only about 75 miles from Nashville, so didn’t have that far to travel.

As we entered the Nashville area, we saw a nice big park, so stopped in at the Warner Nature Center to take Whiskey for a nice long walk on some of the trails. Then we had lunch.

The 15 mile long road we took to get to our couchsurfing host in a suburb of Nashville was lined with large homes and beautiful properties. And lots of horses, you’d almost think we were in Kentucky already.

We got to Tom and Beths house with no problems and got parked up. Nobody was home, and we knew that Tom and Beth were not going to be here…but their son James showed up later on.

We had some very dark clouds and a tornado warning this afternoon. A storm did go through but it only lasted about 15 minutes and we got some wind and heavy rain, but thankfully no sign of a tornado!

Had a shower in our hosts house this evening, and spoke to James for an hour or so. They are also hosting 2 exchange students just now, one from Japan, and one from Libya.

Will go into downtown Nashville tomorrow and explore.
