Our planned return to Canada

Well, we've pretty much got our return to Canada figured out and booked. We fly from Mexico City to Toronto on August 20th, which is our daughter's 40th birthday! Yikes!

We wanted to be there for the big day, and she will be at our son's place near Gravenhurst visiting him at the time, so it will be a fun family reunion on her birthday.

We arrive in Toronto at 7:00am that day, then we take the two and a half hour bus ride to Gravenhurst. We'll spend a couple of days there and then do the long drive with them to Halifax, Nova Scotia.

And then Halifax to Newfoundland and return to Ottawa.

On September 1st, I fly from Halifax to Newfoundland, and Ruth is undecided. She might fly back to Toronto to visit her sister in Hamilton, or she might just wait it out at our daughter's place. Either way, we will both arrive in Ottawa on September 5th.

Unfortunately, our dates don't align with the hosts at the normal house sit we do in Manotick. We're looking for other possibilities, but in the meantime we've booked an Airbnb and a car rental for the month. Neither are "cheap", but they're actually cheaper than I thought they might be. And both are cancellable without charge if we come up with another option.

From there, we fly back to Mexico City October 5th, although I haven't booked that one yet in case we need some flexibility if we come up with another house sit.

So, the rest of this year is actually pretty much confirmed now!

Now, if only we can figure out what we're doing with Igor at the end of this month. I think the answer to that might be decided by where we are at the time and if we've managed to see everything we wanted to.
