Last night, the New York Yankees won the wild card series, so Boston is done for the year and the Blue Jays will play a five game series against the Yankees starting tomorrow (Saturday).
I vividly remember the last time the Jays won the World Series... 32 years ago!
Myself, Ruth, and my long time friend Jeff after watching the Jays win in 1993.
Given that Canada and the U.S. are having some "issues" just now, the Canadian team seems to be getting some extra special coverage here in Canada. Maybe it's just me because I'm paying attention, but there seems to be Blue Jays fever happening all across Canada. Even yesterday when we went for a walk here in the neighborhood we saw a house with a Blue Jays flag at the entrance.
And, I bought a Jays t-shirt the other day to show my support.
So, us Canadians up here in the great white north are looking forward to October baseball for the first time in a long time. With some luck, maybe our enthusiasm will last all month!
Tomorrow, we are meeting our son and his girlfriend to watch game one together!

Great deal on this Craftsman 308 Piece Mechanics Tool Set.
And in Canada...
Mariners fan here from Seattle. The only current MLB team to never make the World Series. Much excitment here for them to play October baseball again since 2022 when we were swept by the Astros in the first round of playoffs. Maybe the two shall meet.....
ReplyDeleteWe never realized that the Mariners have never made it to the World Series. It sure would be neat if the two were to meet up this year! Go Mariners!
DeleteDamn Yankees. Go Blue Jays. I live in Cleveland.
ReplyDeleteWe are looking forward to the first game with the Yankees and Blue Jays today. Sorry that Cleveland got knocked out in the Wild Card series.
