We're headed for Stonehenge

Another mostly cloudy day with a few raindrops but nothing too wet. We took the dogs out for a good run before lunch.

It's amazing how much a dog can run. We did almost 5 kms, but I'm sure they did 50 kms or more, and most of it at full speed. Their little hearts must just be beating like crazy!

These two pups have been a lot of fun, we really enjoyed this house sit. Great personalities, very friendly and obedient.

Throw me the ball!

As soon as we made it into an open field, they both ran like mad chasing circles around each other. I didn't think they were going to stop, so I took a video. They had already started to slow down a bit by this point, but you get the idea...

Really nice walking paths.

Me!

Our host Julie arrived back around dinner time and we had a great conversation talking about travel and life in general. She's got a really positive attitude and we're all on the same page when it comes to the fact that life is to be lived, and you're only here once.

Today, we're headed to around the halfway point between here and London's Heathrow Airport. Which happens to be around the popular Stonehenge monument. We've driven by Stonehenge several times in the past, but never stopped in to have a closer look. Although Ruth was there about fifty years ago with her family back in the days before it was all roped off.

Now, Stonehenge costs about £23 per adult to get close to, but once again we have our English Heritage cards to save us from that expense!

Tomorrow evening grandson Cameron arrives!

  1. Great photos of the pooches; they are definitely high energy dogs! How wonderful to have that big field for them to run and run and run. I'm excited for you for Cameron's arrival. Hope his travels go smoothly!

    1. Yep, they love to run and chase each other or chase the ball. When we are at the house though they are pretty calm, although they do still want you to throw the ball or toy but they aren't jumping around and going crazy and they are very quiet. They only bark if they think someone is approaching the house. They really were great dogs to look after.

We are excited too! We are going to tire him out with all the things we will be doing with him. It is certainly going to be a big adventure for him, especially going on the plane by himself. Looking forward to seeing how it all went when we pick him up at the airport this evening. :-)
