Through the ages...

We never left the house yesterday. It drizzled with rain the entire day! So rather than show you photos of us at our laptops, or us playing backgammon, we'll take this opportunity to show you some photos that you've never seen before!

We met in March of 1983, and by September of that year we did our first trip together... to England!

Ruth, age 21, feeding the pigeons in Trafalgar Square.

Us, age 21, at a wedding in Toronto.

We were married in 1984, and for our honeymoon we drove down to Florida in my 1971 Buick Skylark.
Age 22.

Me, age 23... 1985.

December 1986. Our daughter Lindsey was born in August that year.
Me, at age 24 with a beard. I'll never do that again!

Age 24 in May of 1987, we went back to England.
With Ruth's Uncle Ronald.

July 1987, age 25.
We left our almost one year old daughter with my mother and went and jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. I'm sure my mother thought we were never coming back!

Ruth, age 26, with our son Alex who came along in 1988.

Age 28, at a friends wedding in September 1990.

Age 29, at another friends wedding in August 1991.

With my grandmother in November 1992. Age 30.

Toga Party at Sandals Antigua, 1993. Age 31.
We weren't always frugal travelers!

July 1994 we took our kids on a two week tent camping trip to Newfoundland.
Lindsey (age 7) and Alex (age 6) completed the 16 km (10 mile) hike up Gros Morne Mountain.
When we got back to the campsite, Ruth and I were exhausted, but the kids wanted to go swimming!

In May 1996, this little gal joined our family,
Whiskey was 8 weeks old in this first photo of her.

Ruth, Christmas 1996 age 35.

January 1998 we did a one week all inclusive to Dominican Republic. Age 37.

April 1999, age 36, Ruth was hit by a foul ball at a Toronto Blue Jays game.

Family photo New Years Day 2000. Age 38.
With Alex (11) and Lindsey (13).

February 2001 Ruth did a cruise with some people from her work. Age 39.

January 2003 was our first time in Mexico. Age 41.

April 2004 we did a one week all inclusive to Dominican Republic. Age 42.

January 2005, hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Age 43.

December 2005. Age 43.

Sept 2006 hiking at Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, British Columbia. Age 44.

March 2007, age 45.

And in October 2007 we sold our house, quit our jobs, and took off in a motorhome. Those adventures are all included here on the blog in the archives, so we can stop there.

We hope you enjoyed these photos of our life before this blog started. I enjoyed putting it together for you!

    1. It was fun to go through our old pictures and see the things we did and how we have all changed through the years. I am glad that we have these pictures digitalized so that we can see wherever we are. ;-) Yes, they are definitely precious memories for us.
