Another RV Caravan to Mexico!

We had said that we would decide and announce one way or the other by the end of June, and so here it is...

Yes, once again we will be leading a group of RV'ers to Mexico!

This will be the fourth trip that we have led, and every time we do one of these trips we learn a few more things and are able to improve the next trip as a result.

We think this is going to be a fantastic trip, and we've adjusted the route so that we will be going to places that may have never seen an RV before, let alone a group of RVs traveling together.

It's going to be an adventurous trip!

We'll be meeting as a group at the Mexico border on November 15, 2019 and back into the United States on March 30, 2020... a full four and a half months together.

We have restrictions on rig size. This year, we've made the maximum 30ft for motorhomes, and 24 ft for travel trailers and fifth wheels. And the maximum number of trailers will be two in the group. Smaller is better in Mexico, especially when we are going to some of the places that we are.

Same as last year, we are going to be a group of eight rigs, with us included. So there were seven available spots. However, we have accepted three returning rigs from last year who want to come with us again! And, we have already accepted one person who was scheduled for last year but had to cancel at the last minute. So, there are only three empty spots! We will be interviewing all applicants this year to make sure that everybody is aware of what they're getting themselves into.

Who are the ideal people we are looking for? You need to be easy to get along with, and be able to roll with the punches. This will be a very different trip, and things will go wrong. You need to be able to walk at least 2 kms at a decent pace. There will be a lot of walking involved. You need to be happy and comfortable camping for extended periods without hookups.

This is NOT a beach trip. Out of the four and a half month trip, there are only 17 days at the beach. We've been exploring Mexico for twelve years, and we think that the best parts of Mexico are inland, away from the coast.

Your dog is welcome on this trip. We love dogs, and we traveled Mexico with our dog in our motorhome for over four years. But, you need to be aware that your dog is your responsibility.

If you've read this far and you're still interested, send us an email stating what type of rig you would be bringing to Mexico to [email protected] and we'll send you an information package.

  3. For a long while, I've been dreaming of joining your caravan to Mexico next winter. I even contacted you earlier this year. Unfortunately, I won't apply for one of the three available spots, even though I think we would qualify on many aspects. However, health reasons prevent one of us from undertaking such a long trip away from home. So sorry about that! I'm grieving : one of my dreams is fading out ... Hope you have a nice season in Mexico and I'll be following your blogs.

    1. We are so sorry that you aren't able to come this winter, hopefully if we decide to do another trip again next winter, things will have improved for you both to take on the challenge of a trip into Mexico with us. In the meantime, I hope that just reading our blog will help fill the void of not being able to join us for this trip.
