On our way to Mexico!

By the time most of you read this, we will already be on our way across the border and into our first driving day in Mexico.

We're getting up early and making our way to the border station well before the crowds... and doing so on a Sunday morning because we know that all of the bad guys will either be sleeping... or in church!

Spent most of the last two days doing last minute running around. I brought the car rental back at just before 1:00pm Saturday as scheduled, but they were short staffed and the girl behind the counter was overwhelmed with customers. I overheard one lady ask for a ride back home and she was told "it's going to be a long wait". By the time I got up there, I explained the situation from the other day and asked for her to drop one day of the charges and I would take an Uber back to the motorhome. She smiled, and happily agreed. Works for me! Enterprise was pretty unorganized for this rental, but they looked after me. Overall, I'm pleased.

I promised that you all could meet the people we're taking with us on this four month adventure!

In no particular order, here are four of the seven rigs that are joining us...

Brian and Kathy

Brian and Kathy are from Surrey (Vancouver), British Columbia. They drive a 30 ft Class C. They've done one other Mexico RV caravan, so they aren't newbies to this... but we look forward to showing them some areas they have never been to before.

Roy and Susan.

Roy and Susan are from Ohio. They drive a Roadtrek class B van, and they have spent a lot of time in it the past couple of years. I may not have the numbers exact, but they only spent about 115 days at home last year, and not much different the year before. Other than a quick across the border trip, they have never been to Mexico before! Are they ever in for a great trip!

Wendy.

Wendy is a single lady traveling in her Pleasure Way class B van. She's been to Mexico a few times, but never on a trip like this. She spent five weeks in Mazatlan last winter, but flew down at the time.

Denise, Bob, and Scarlett the dog.

Denise and Bob are originally from Ottawa area, but now live in Ingleside, Ontario. Scarlett is one of only two dogs on the trip. She is such a sweet girl and so well behaved. They are relatively new RVers, having bought their 26 ft Class A (Sunny the Sunstar) only in March this past year. But they've done a few miles in it already are are certainly going to be seasoned RVers by the time they are done this trip!

Pictures are all taken with our new camera... I didn't have to mess with the exposure or color on any of them! So happy...!

We'll introduce you to the other three tomorrow.

We're hitting the border early Sunday morning... see you in Mexico!

  5. What's the largest rig in your caravan? We live in a 40' class A and wondered about doing a trip like this next year (2019).

    1. The largest rig in our group is a 30' Class C motorhome. We put a cap on the length because some of the places we are going to will be a tight fit for anything bigger. Having said that we know people that travel around in a 40' Class A but you will definitely be restricting yourself to certain areas or parks.
