This old motorhome burned to the ground...

We went out for another nice walk yesterday. It had rained a bit in the morning, but we waited until it was less than a drizzle, and we were fine. There are a lot of snowmobile trails in a nearby bush area, and at this time of year it's great for going for a hike.

We try and keep up a fast pace, despite the fact that there were quite a few picture taking opportunities. It's a really pretty area!

So, we ended up doing 7.0 kms (4.2 miles) in an hour and 15 minutes. Not bad.

An old railway line made into a multi use path.

Nobody around.

Fall colors.

This is a snowmobile trail in the winter.

Anther section of it goes through a pine forest.

Coming back through the village, we came upon an odd sight. This old motorhome had burned to the ground. Looked like it had happened really recently, and our daughter Lindsey said that it only happened last week. I noticed that there is a newer rig in the driveway.

Based on the headlights, I'd say this used to be a mid 1980's class C.

Sherman, in his parking spot at Lindsey and Justin's house.

Lindsey and Justin bought an small old house on a big lot. The place needs a lot of work, but he's a carpenter/construction guy, and they'll work away on it over time. The location is fantastic, and considering they're first time home buyers they have a relatively small mortgage and so they're not house poor. A wise buying decision in our opinion.

Later in the day, we took Cameron and Sadie to the park.
Here's Sadie, ready to go down the slide.

Lots of red maple leaves on the ground.

This afternoon, I'm off and away to my annual weekend away with my friends who I've known for about 37 years. We always have a lot of laughs, so I'm really looking forward to it. We've rented the same beautiful cottage property that we were at last year. Beautiful place, and enough beds for everyone.

And, we'll be watching the Blue Jays vs Indians game this evening. Go Jays!

A good selection of men's and ladies Seiko watches are on sale right now. Whenever you can get a Seiko for under $100, it's a good deal!

And in Canada, this is kind of different...

  1. Love the trails and fall colors. Yes, a wise move to buy a small house. I too bought a small house years ago when everyone else were buying mega houses. I still have the sturdy little house but had new energy efficient windows, new doors, new roof, and a block fence installed about five years ago. My daughter bought new appliances for me about the same time. I love my little house.

    1. We are so happy that they decided to buy small and fix it up as they have the money. Too many people going into debt to try to keep up with the Jones! Sounds like you made the right decision too! :-)

  5. It amazes me how much debt people take on these days. Living within your means is a wise choice. Great pictures.

    1. Totally agree Peter! It seems so many people NEED to have the best of everything, even when they don't have the funds. I am glad that we have been able to influnce these two with some good logic and that they can live within their means and still be able to enjoy life.

    1. Not one hill to be had on that walk! We need to find some hills though so we can practice for Romania.
