Sure...let's go!
So we set out shortly after 10:00am.
Hang on! It could get dusty!
Stopping for a break.
I think we got photo bombed!
This road is not motorhome friendly.
Slow down!
Another break.
Don't get your feet wet!
Arrived at the hot springs.
In the middle of no where is this really rustic hot springs pool. Actually, it's a whole bunch of little pools. What a neat spot! Only 35 pesos ($2.75 CAD) to get in, and you can choose your own pool, and even regulate the temperature yourself.
Fun in the pool. Still with dirty faces from the dust!
Our group, relaxing. Ted, Noella, Allan, Tony, and Debbie.
We sat in the pools for a while. There's a snack bar there and we had a couple of cold beers and some quesadillas for lunch. Then, we headed back.
Selling peanuts and mandarines.
Along this dusty dirt trail, this old man was selling peanuts and mandarines. It was kind of odd, because I bet not one vehicle per hour goes by here. The poor old guy could hardly get out of his chair to take the money! I bet our group were his best customers of the day!
Back on the road.
We were back at the park around 3:00pm. That was a fun five hours! Anybody in the Puerto Vallarta area who wants to book a tour can call Garry at 322-728-7326.
Too bad that we can't hang around a few more days. But...we're heading for southern California and we can't dawdle. Not a long drive today...only about 50 kms (30 miles), so we'll be parked up well before noon.

That "hot tub program" (OK, I know it's wasn't quite that) is the thing to do when in the sunny south. Looks like you had a great time, even if you got a little dusty.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly seems to be popular program down here, especially with all the thermal water that they seem to have here in Mexico. It felt really nice after that dusty ride but then we needed another one back at Garry's because it was just as dusty going back! ;-)
DeleteAnother experience for you!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was! We really like finding these little known kind of places.
DeleteCan you share how much Garry charges for a tour like that? Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteIf you do it straight through Garry, it is 800 pesos for one bike, a little more for 2 people on one bike and depending on where you go, depends on if you pay extra for gas. To go to the hot pools, I think it was 150 pesos more. In total I think we were gone about 5 hours.
DeleteHow long will it take from Nuevo Vallarta to the hot springs?
ReplyDeleteFrom Garry's place which is about 12km inland from Bucerias near the little town of Valle de Banderas, it took about 1 1/2 hours to get there with a short break at a little town on the way.
DeleteCome on! not motorhome friendly for most but for you two.... I believe you two could do it!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteActually we might have been able to get the motorhome in there, it just would have taken a long time and we would have had to but back some low branches. It wouldn't have been a lot of fun doing it though! ;-)
DeleteKevin you need to take your shirt off from time to tie and even out that tan!!!
ReplyDeleteUntil now we really haven't been anywhere that has been warm enough to do that or appropriate enough too! Up until yesterday (Thursday) we hadn't even seen the ocean. ;-)
DeleteThe photo of you two in the water is so funny! Love those tan lines and dirty faces! Can't wait to see you two!
ReplyDeleteYep, we do look a little funny, lol!
DeleteLooking forward to seeing the both of you as well, won't be long now!
um no helmets. things sure are different
ReplyDeleteNo helmets and liability forms to feel out, you are responsible for your own actions, just the way it should be.
DeleteThat looks like a fun outing....just the kind of thing Steve and I love to do!
ReplyDeleteYou would both love it! :-)
DeleteIm in So Cal and longing to go to Mexico!
ReplyDeleteYou aren't too far away, just pack up and head south! :-)
DeleteFun and more fun:)
ReplyDeleteIt sure was! :-)
DeleteIs this place called El Manto? We're in Punta de Mita right now and I'd like to take my friends somewhere different.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the El Manto website I have a feeling it wasn't. If by chance you had a Google map link, I would really appreciate it.
DeleteIt is called Aguas Termales Nuevo Ixtlán and is off a little road in between Valle de Bandares and Altavista near Hwy 200 north of La Penita. Just Google 'Aguas Termales Nuevo Ixtlan' and you find lots of references to it.
