No sun, but a great sunset!

Around 10:00am yesterday morning we did a long walk into the town of Jocotepec with eight others from the RV caravan group. It was an overcast day...in fact I don't think we saw the sun all day and it was abnormally cool for this area.

But, it was a good day for a walk.

Our first stop was the malecon walkway and park at the waterfront area of Jocotepec. Ruth and I were there about three years ago when they were just finishing building the park.

Debbie and Ruth with an odd statue!

Lots of birdlife on the waterfront.

Some ducks.

When we were finished at the waterfront, it was time for some lunch. In the state of Jalisco, Birria is popular local dish. It's a stew made with goat meat, and sure enough it didn't take long to find a place to have some of this for lunch...

Having some birria for lunch. It was yummy!

Then we walked to the plaza and had some ice cream.

The central plaza in Jocotepec.

And then we walked back to the RV park. Turns out we did a total of 9 kms (5.5 miles), so it was a nice walk and a bit of exercise out exploring.

Later in the afternoon, we had a birthday party! It was actually spitting with rain for a little while, so we moved indoors...

Getting the cake and candles ready for Betty's birthday.

No sun all day, but a beautiful sunset.

But this morning, the sun is shining brightly and with a clear blue sky! Looks like great weather has returned!

It's back again...a two pack of camping lanetrs, batteries included...

Also available in Canada. Not quite as good of a deal of course, but still not bad...

    1. And now without typos...

A nice day for a walk, and a hearty lunch. Our day started with thunder and lightning, but now the sun is out and it's warming up. Packing our suitcases today for the trip home to Vancouver. Boohoo.

    2. Other than being cooler than normal and no sun it was a wonderful day!

Glad you had such a great time in Mexico this winter and that we got to meet up several times. Hope you have/had a safe trip back home.
