Tilley sold, but the quality will remain...

It was announced last week that Tilley Endurables was sold to a UK investment firm for an undisclosed sum. The founder Alex Tilley was wanting to retire and at age 77 who could blame him?!

Too bad he couldn't have found a Canadian buyer, but at least it sounds like the company and it's production will remain essentially Canadian.

Various news reports have said that the "made in Canada" distinction was in fact part of the deal. Everything the company makes is in fact made right here in Canada, with the exception of the Tilley socks which are made in the United States.

We've been extremely happy with all of our Tilley travel clothing. The socks and underwear are easily hand washed and they dry overnight so you're ready to go out exploring again first thing the next day.

I've proven that the pants are durable and comfortable, and I've got them set aside as the one and only pair of pants that I'm bringing on our six week Colombia tour this fall.

And of course the signature Tilley hat comes with us on all of our travels!

Tilley's best selling hat is available on Amazon.com...

    1. The company is changing hands but hopefully the product will remain with the same high standards!
