Buckets of Rain!

We got a little bit of work done yesterday morning, but just before lunch the rain started. And it rained, and rained, and rained. It poured buckets of rain!

And it's supposed to rain for the next few days.

The little blue car is having a long shower!

But in the morning, before the rain started, I installed a couple of new playground toys. I had dug the holes and put in the concrete base on Wednesday, so just needed to put on the diggers themselves yesterday.

The kids will have fun with these diggers!

We've learned that when it pours with rain, there's not much you can do around here! Ruth cleaned the oven yesterday afternoon and I wasted time on the internet!

And it poured hard! You know, the kind of rain that bounces a foot and a half off the pavement when it hits. For hours. It finally settled down around 7:00pm last night.

Our culverts seemed to manage the water okay, but there are areas of the campground where I'll have to do some minor erosion repairs.

This culvert was DRY up until yesterday!

So was this one!

And this one had a trickle of water running down it. Now it's a river!

Okay, today is the last day to vote so we're really asking for your help. We're in 3rd place and we need a top five finish but it's not over until it's over!

Remember, click the fifth star to the far RIGHT.

It's not too late to start helping. If you have a facebook account, please support our efforts to win a trip to Namibia, Africa!

If you didn't vote last night, you should be able to vote twice today. We'll remind you again at 8:00pm eastern time because that's when the 24 hour timer resets to allow you to vote again. There will be a four hour window between 8:00pm and midnight eastern and then the contest closes.

Thanks everyone. Don't just wish us luck...help us win!

  1. That's alot of rain...sure wish we had some of it here in Moab. The wind was at 22 mph yesterday...a small dust storm to say the least!

    Enjoy your day!

    1. That is one thing we don't like about a desert climate, all that dust blowing around. Wish we could send it your way!
