The "little blue car" needs a name!

Are you ever bored? One of us saw on facebook the other day that someone mentioned they were bored. And we both had to think about when the last time was that we were bored. Can't remember. I guess we simply don't get bored!

There's always something to do. In fact, there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to get to some of the things we have to get done. Neither one of us has even picked up a book yet! I can think of at least four little repair and maintenance projects that still need to be done to both the little blue car, and the motorhome.

Speaking of which, the little blue car needs a name. We've had a few people suggest we need to hold a contest to name the little blue car. So here's what we're going to do...we'll let you all suggest what you think the new name should be. Just post your suggestion in the comment section below, or on our Facebook page. We'll pick the three favorites that appeal to us, and then we'll let you vote on the three favorites. Sound like fun?? Well at least it will give you something to do if you're bored!!

The little blue car on the first day we bought her. Only brand new car we've ever owned!

If this helps at all with your name choice, it is a 2006 Pontiac Wave. Exactly the same as the Chevy Aveo sold in the United States, but in Canada they also sold it as a Pontiac version. We've never decided if it's a male or female, so that can be decided by the name you choose.

Sherman is a male. His name was decided because he drives like a tank! Besides, our friends Glen and Steve said that you shouldn't name your RV after a female because she might turn out to be a real bitch!

Two nights ago we had the most spectacular sunset. We often get really nice sunrises, but not so many great sunsets. This is one of the best sunsets we've ever seen. The sky looked like it was on fire!

Very neat sunset!

Two more RV's showed up yesterday. Lloyd and Marilyn from British Columbia, and Keeble and Carole from Alberta. They've never been to Hacienda Contreras before and they're staying through Christmas. Last year was a good Christmas here, but I think it's going to be even more fun this year!

Getting to know each other at happy hour.

  1. Just name it the BlueWave couldn't be simpler. and you can paint you the bottom of your hands blue and wave them at people. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion Sam, not sure about painting the bottom of our hands blue though!

  2. Either the picture is really crooked, or that motorhome on the left is really out of level.
No ideas on the car. Our kids would name cars, with the most recent one being "zippy honkers" for our daughter's Jetta. It's never something that occurs to us though.
How about, "little blue beastie"? Best said with a slight Scots brogue too, mind.

    1. I think it was just the angle the picture was taken because it is actually level.

I think "Little blue beastie" might be a tad too long but thanks for the suggestion.

    1. Good, but still a little long. We would rather have just a one word name.

  4. Hi! I think it would be simple and easy just to call your little blue car... BLUE! This way, it can remain sexless, too! :) Blessings, Lynn

    1. I looked that up and it means "tile" so maybe not. My thought was "Azulito" which is an endearing "Little Blue"

  6. Suggest "Smurf" for the car as the Smurf's were blue!
Tony seems to think I may have popped over as it looks like me sat at the table!! Ha ha
    Great sunset.

    1. Sorry Helen, we aren't calling the little blue car "Smurf", it's just not going to happen! And yes, Barbara does look like you in that picture, now that we look at it more closely!

  7. "Lil blue". He's a boy because blue is associated with boys, and he is little, compared to Sherman.

  8. Love, love, love that sunset picture. I've only ever named one vehicle and that was a 1959 Chevy Impala. Remember those fins? I named him Wishbone. But after you pick three, I'll vote on one.

  11. I like Smurf but a variation, Smurfy, Smurfee or Smurfie. Smurfy is pulled by Sherman. Sounds GOOOOD!

  15. As is becoming a way-too-frequent occurrence, Blogger discarded the comment I made this morning.

I had suggested "Toado"--- as in "we're not in Canada any more"

  17. Sure is exciting to see the place fill up! We should be home this afternoon, yayyyy...Don't name the car what Mark S said, lol...Think Sweet P is good, for the little sweet Pontiac that will take you to sweet places. See you soon!

  18. I'll suggest "Little Phil" after Philip Sheridan (like Sherman, a Civil War general).

PS--Is it alright if I occasionally post a link to my website when I comment? I'd like more readers, although I suffer from no delusions that I'm ever going to start selling advertising space or anything grandiose like that. But, you know what? I just ordered 1000 "tarjetas de presentacion" that I'm going to start passing out like candy!

  19. How about just azul or azulito for the blue one?

  20. Holy smoke! The park is packed. I hope we can get a spot. Looks like we're missing out on all the fun.

The car sure looks like Wendy (the Wave) to me! I know, don't ask me what to name your car :)

Did anyone say, "la onda azul"? (the blue wave)

  21. I just discovered that if you click on my name, it will link you to my blog in a kind of a roundabout way, so I guess there's no need for me to start "spamming" you!
What tipped me off was the comment from living.boondockingmexico (it seemed a rather strange name). The park does look full. I guess word is getting around.
