Hyatt Place Pittsburgh - North Shore

The Hyatt Place Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh is fairly new. It opened it's doors in December of 2010, so it's less than two years old. If you're visiting downtown Pittsburgh for any reason, it's all about location!

And the Hyatt Place North Shore has a perfect location. It's right in between the Pittsburgh Steelers Football stadium and the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball stadium, so it's walking distance to both venues!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. And we even used their free shuttle service to downtown. Hot breakfast was included and there were even a lot of gluten free choices for Ruth. We were even impressed with attitude the housekeeping staff who made a point to say hello and ask us how our visit was going!

Here's some pics of our room...

Nice spacious room, with a 42" flat screen television!

Our one complaint with this hotel was an issue with the internet. The router access point that was assigned to our room went down twice, and both time the front desk referred us to the service provider where we had to wait on hold to report the issue and get it fixed. Not really something the customer should have to do, although I'm pretty sure it was faster this way than if we had left it entirely up to them. In this day and age, there is no way that a new hotel should be having issues with internet.

Other than that, our stay was fantastic. Only thing that could have made it better would have been a view of the city, but it would be luck of the draw to have received one of these room. And despite the issue with the internet, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

If you're lucky enough to get a room with a view out the front, this is the city you'll see!
