Finally, a nice relaxing day!

As much as we've enjoyed touring London, Leeds, and Bristol over the last two and a half weeks, we were due for a break. Pretty much all we did yesterday was to go for a two hour walk in the country.

And the weather was decent too. Not very warm yet, but definitely some blue sky and sunshine.

Ruth and her cousin Helen.

Having a look over the bridge.

Chester the dog, saying hello to the ponies!

Rows of apples in the huge orchard. They are used for making cider!

Nice area for exploring. This bridge was built in the 17th century!

St. Peter's church in the village of Lydford on Fosse. The church is from 1840's, but the town itself goes back to the year 1050!

These cows were on the other side of the river, but they sure were interested in us.

Or were they interested in this bull on our side of the river?!

Chester, Tony, and Helen.

We have got together with Helen and Tony quite a few times over the years and it''s always a good laugh. Sometimes it was them coming to Canada for a visit, and other times it was us coming to England. And once, we met in England and went for a two week holiday together in Portugal!

Speaking of other countries, we have pretty much made up our mind where we are going next! We were thinking of having a poll and letting our readers choose our next destination, but we've come up with what we think is a decent airfare to somewhere different. As soon as we've actually booked it, we'll let you know where we're headed!

Posted our June expenses earlier today, you can read all about it here.

  1. I think I would want to be on the side of the river WITH the cows... not on the side you guys were on!!!!

We are sooo loving your trip, and anxious to see where you are going next.

  5. Looked like a beautiful day out in the country. I think that's what we liked the most in France - the cities and larger centres have lots to offer but it was always the countryside and small towns that seemed to grab our attention the most.
Can't wait to see your next country choice!
