Looking back

Funny thing happened yesterday to some of our readers. Anybody who has been following by Google Reader saw an update from us that said "Mission, BC". This update was from November 29, 2007!

Ruth has been updating this website to include posts from 2007 when we were using a different service. So now you can go all the way back to the fall of 2007 when we had just started out on our motorhome and travel adventures. She's still got a few posts to go, but she's got all the way back to November 27, 2007 done now.

Anyhow, blogger changed their posting format a few days ago and something messed up with the date on that particular post. So it showed up as a current posting even though the date was from 2007. Strange, because it hasn't happened again.

It is sometimes interesting stuff having a daily travel blog. What were you doing exactly one year ago today? Or two or three or four years ago today.

It's fun to be able to look back.

On April 21 of last year  we were exploring Nova Scotia in dismal weather. Thinking back, I really enjoyed that trip despite the cold wet weather. Too bad Nova Scotia is so expensive.

On April 21 of 2010 we were getting ready to begin the summer workcamping at the KOA in Kingston, Ontario. And I was talking about the economy. Interesting that interest rates are still low, but that the Canadian dollar hasn't gained much on the U.S. dollar. Still about par.

On April 21 of 2009 we arrived in Plattsburgh, New York to watch our son and his team playing college baseball.

On April 21 of 2008 we were in Watertown, New York. Again, to watch our son's college baseball.

This year, we are quite happy to still be in Mexico where it's warm. I wonder where we will be next year at this time??

Time to vote! We had our best day yet, with 250 votes cast for us yesterday! Thanks for keeping at it everyone!

But who knows where we will be next year too!
I think you will be back in Mexico after a nice long trip in the UK and other parts of Europe, you will be homesick for Mexico :)
    Cheers! - off to VOTE!

    1. Yep, but it has been a lot of work. I am almost finished. I have just over one month to go. We will let everyone know when I am finally done.

  5. Those "jog your memory" posts from the past are one of the greatest benefits of blogging IMHO, and even though I don't blog daily I still get to see where we were last year or a few years ago. I am really enjoying your new format and looking forward to more.

  6. I like the new lay-out, but it seems to take quite a bit longer to load than the old one.

    1. So far you are the only one that has mentioned that, so maybe you are having an internet problem. If more people mention it we will look into it further. Thanks for the input.

    Howdy R&K,
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SNAKE PICTURE??? I saw it and then went on to reading and when I went back to see the snake IT WAS GONE!!! I know I saw it and Bob in Austria did too, also!!! I was going to say that Joyce worked in the Museum of Natural History in Fair Park in Dallas, Texas and they had a lemon python who was 11 feet long and roamed the museum(with an attendant)each morning! She was gorgeous! One of the interns quit when she was supposed to feed the snake...
I wish I could make up my days of missed votes; but that would be like Mexican politics!!!

    1. Hi there Butterbean, we change the header picture each day, so maybe you logged on just as we were changing it. Lilo was a really nice and gentle snake. She is an albino phython snake. We wish you could make up those missed days of votes as well :)
