Two more jobs done!

Picked up Sherman's new heater control valve and got it installed yesterday. Fired him up, tested everything for leaks and everything works great!

And, we have heat to spare. Not that we plan on needing it that much, but it will still be nice to have on cool mornings. Usually when we're on the road and it's chilly when we wake up, rather than putting the furnace on we get up and drive right away for a half hour or so letting the engine heat warm us up instead of using propane.

And, I got the fuse holders installed in the generator. Tested that as well, and the generator works perfectly every time. We haven't used the generator in over a year and a half. I know the rules say that you're supposed to run your generator every month for a half an hour at 50% load capacity, but ours has sat for 18 months and it doesn't seem to have done it any harm. Anyhow, it will be nice to have if we need it.

Ruth has been busy cleaning and reorganizing all our cupboards and drawers. Sherman is starting to look pretty spiffy and the only real interior thing left to do is the carpet and floor. And we're purposely planning on doing that last so that will be the project for the last week that we're here.

Looks like another nice day, we've had such a good string of weather since we got here. In fact, we're off for a morning bike ride!

  1. It's always good when a job turns out the way you want it to, I may have to ask you to look or give us advice on the floor in our fiver, it developed two soft spots in the living room, have decide to go with a hard floor if it needs replacing. Be safe out there.Sam & Donna.

  2. You really are making great progress. Jim got a lot done yesterday, also. But a bike ride break is a really good thing.
