Playa La Entrega (Huatulco, day 8)

This morning, we went to the other beach. This is a small beach that is only accessible by boat or a walking trail. We got there about 9:00am and we were the only ones there.

Ruth and Alex didn’t waste any time getting in and doing some snorkeling. I was quite happy sitting on the beach and just watching.

As they were finishing up, a couple of people came down the path to the beach. They introduced themselves as Randy and Hilda from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Fellow Canadians escaping the cold! They rent a condo down here for three months. We invited them up to the motorhome for a drink when they were finished, and they accepted. It was actually close to noon when they showed up, so it wasn’t tooooo early for a drink!

Alex and I continued our backgammon marathon in the afternoon. We’ve kept track of the number of games and the win/loss record, so we’ll let you know the final total Tuesday after he heads back to New York.

Our hosts were gone again all day. What a funny way to run a business. Just after supper, a guy showed up yelling for Ricardo, the owner. I went outside and explained in Spanish that I only speak a little bit of Spanish…the guy answers “that’s okay, I speak English”. Turns out he has customers wanting a pizza for dinner, and he proceeded to moan about Ricardo never being there and that’s the second time he’s done this. Oh well, it’s not my business.

Finished watching “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, and was in bed sleeping by 10:00pm.

  1. Looks like another fine day, it sure is a shame the owners aren't tuned into their business, that looks like a little gold mine waiting for the right management style. Maybe you could turn it into a work camping site and stay for extended periods.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...

  3. We had about 30 inches of snow rein upon us in the last few days. Did I mention how much I hate shovelling?
    Good grief.

    Wish I was there!!!!

  4. I think it is about 10 F here right now. Sure do love looking at those warm beaches! You reminded me to go put my snorkel gear in the suitcase that is getting ready for the Caribbean!

  5. Sam and Donna...I think it would require too much work to do the workcamping thing there, plus we don't want to be tied down to one place while we are in Mexico. Too much to see and explore.

George and Suzie...Mañana seems to be the moto here. Nothing wrong with that as long as it doen't interfere with our day. We are loving it here.

Gail...I think tranquil is a good word for it.

WBY...We are thinking of you. I will have a rum punch in your name.

Malone...Hope you enjoy yourself. Where are you going?
