On our way to Memphis

Only 300 miles, but it'll probably take us three days to get there!

Currently in Clarksville, Tennessee and Ruth is in the Walmart doing some groceries. We're not going to stay here tonight, we're actually heading for a little park about 25 miles southeast of here.

Here's today's drive, about 140 miles (224 kms). you can see Memphis in the bottom left corner...

On another note, I was up on the roof yesterday cleaning the solar panels when I was stung by a wasp. The initial sting was painful, but eventually the pain pretty much disappeared. However early this morning while still in bed it became very, very itchy. I'm pretty good at ignoring itches, but this one drove me a bit crazy and still is. Even though I'm not scratching it, it's made my forearm quite swollen and the red itchy spot around the bite is now about 4" in diameter. Doesn't look very nice, and it sure is annoying. Maybe Ruth will remember to pick up some Benedryl or something in the Walmart.

  2. That area you are in on the Tenn/KY border is really nice, east of you is the Barren River State Park, in KY in the summer it is an excellent place for a weekend or getaway. Be safe out There. Sam & Donna.

  6. Gail...Kevin has tried the Benedryl spray and it helped for about 10 minutes and that was about it. An ice pack seems to help some.

Sam and Donna...Yes, Kentucy/Tennessee border is a very pretty area, we will have to make our way back here and explore the area more another time.

Mike...Glad you had a good time a Talladega, sorry we missed you. When you are in Nashville try to go to Opryland (the hotel complex) it is pretty cool.

Rick and Paulette...It is pretty nasty. He's had stings before but none that went like this.

Pidge...The info Kevin found online said that wasps don't loose their stingers, but he did look anyhow and it doesn't look like anything was left behind. Thanks for the suggestion.
