Snow

Got up at 7:00am, and hit the road right away. Already done 100 miles today, and sitting out the rush hour traffic in Scranton, Pennsylvania. They had a few inches of heavy wet snow through the mountains between Harrisburg and Wilkes-Barre, but the roads were cleared so it was no problem. Glad we didn't keep driving last night though.

I have to say that the Holiday Inn Express has some of the best free internet access around. Pull up into the parking lot, and logged on right away. Best Western comes in a close second.

  1. Boy rush hour in Scranton, When I was a boy growing up there, there was no such thing, except if you counted between 1:30PM and 3:30PM when the two Pheobe Snow Passenger trains came in, westbound at 130 and eastbound at 330, you could set your watch by it and since the railroad was the primary employer the station was always busy at those times. Now there is no railroad hardly and a lot of the population has moved elsewhere to find jobs. By the time you read this you should be almost home, Gkad to see you had a great holiday, and be safe out there, Sam & Donna.

  2. We had a great trip, thanks very much! They have got to do something with the highway between Wilkes Barre and Scranton. Waaaay too many potholes. But, we've learned that it doesn't matter where you are in the world, there are some rough roads!
