Myrtle Beach by lunchtime!

Well, that's the plan anyhow. Had a good night sleep behind the church. Up early this morning, and it's sunny! In fact, the forecast is for sunshine and warmer temperatures for the next 5 days!

Our boondocking spot behind the church in Maysville, NC.

10:30am
Just south of Wilmington, NC. Will be entering South Carolina soon, and then we'll head straight to the UPS store to pick up our new solar panel. Then we'll find the hotel where the boys are staying, and the ballpark where they play, which is apparently only 1 mile from the hotel. Temperature warming up, now about 45F (8C). Cloudy, but the sun is trying to come through.

1:00pm
Picked up the solar panel at the UPS store! It was exactly as described...brand new. So now I have a project to do at some point over the next couple of weeks. Then, it was only another 5 miles or so to the hotel where the baseball team is staying, and they have us parked up at a decent location, with good internet access. It's a nice sunny day, and the temperature is 52F (11C).

Carrying the new solar panel out of the UPS store!

10:00pm
Took Whiskey for a walk down the road from the hotel. Afterwards, Ruth had a nap and I wandered across to the big tourist trap on the other side of the road. It has an aquarium, an Imax theatre, and a whole bunch of touristy shops and restaurants. I saw a sign that said "ask how you can get free aquarium tickets". Now, I had already seen that the price to get in to the aquarium was $20 each, so I wondered what kind of a scam there was to get "free" tickets. Well sure enough, they wanted you to sit in on a timeshare tour to get those free tickets. After a few minutes of talking to the girl, she had also offered free tickets to the Imax theatre as well. I said no to the Imax, and then she offered $50 cash instead. Well, she had me sold, so we're doing a time share tour at 9:00am tomorrow morning. Not bad pay for 90 minutes of our time, except that we have to drive Sherman 7 miles away to get there. Oh well. Something to do tomorrow morning, and make a few bucks cash as well. Last time we did a timeshare tour was in Cancun in December 2008. Tomorrows baseball doesn't start until 3:00pm, and they play a double header.

Today's baseball didn't go so well. The boys lost 6-1, and it was a chilly night. They got a few guys on base. but just couldn't get anybody home.

On the way back, we stopped and got a few groceries, and are now camped out at the Holiday Inn Express for the night.

Distance driven today: 148 miles (236 kms)
Distance driven total: 998 miles (1,596 kms)

March fuel: $263.50
March Groceries: $96.91
March overnight: $0.00
March Misc: $24.67
