GPS

So we almost bought a new GPS unit the other day. They sure have come down in price, just like everything else electronic!

And you know how I like to get a deal on something, but there's no point in buying something just because it's a deal...you really have to need it as well, or it's just a waste of money. And money is time. And too many people spend too much of their time working. So why work for something you don't need.

Hmmm, I'm kind of rambling aren't I? But I'm going to leave that last thought there anyhow!

So, here was this deal on a new Tom Tom GPS unit. It's one of their base models, so they're getting pretty cheap to begin with. But this one was on for $89 CAN ($82 US). And, the best part is that it included the maps for Mexico!

When we were in Mexico, our Garmin GPS didn't do us any good. And Garmin wanted $75, if I remember correctly, to download and install the maps for Mexico as an extra.

Anyhow, our current Garmin is one of the original models, the mapping is at least 4 years old now, and really we could use a new one. But there's no point in buying now. I'd rather get one when we go to Mexico in November, and have it with the newest maps. And, maybe we could get it in the U.S. and not pay 13% taxes! Still, this was a great deal. We just don't need it yet.
