Folly Beach (day 2)

Saturday Apr 5…11:00pm

Took dogs for a walk this morning…two at a time. Then went for a nice bike ride about 4 km’s out to the point of the island where there is a lighthouse. Some people fishing out there, but it’s cloudy and windy so not many sunbathers or swimmers.

Did some cleaning and puttering around Sherman this afternoon. Not the nicest day, and it kind of spits with rain on and off. Eventually, around 5pm it starts to sound like a thunderstorm is coming. We had the two bigger dogs tied up outside. Bo, the chihuahua, was curled up on Ruth’s lap inside the motorhome. He’s become very friendly. Tico, the black lab likes to run off, and Katherine had warned us to keep him on a leash at all times. So because of the coming storm, we went out to bring the dogs onto the front porch, which is covered and screened in. But Tico didn’t want to be there. He was spooked because of the storm, and was difficult to get into the porch. As I went to leave and close the door, he squeezed by me. He’s a powerful dog, and I tried to stop him, but he was gone. Even squeezed himself under the front gate. And then the rain started.

After the storm, Ruth and I took Whiskey for a walk and tried to find Tico. Nowhere to be seen. Katherine came home about 7pm, and we explained the story. She wasn’t surprised…apparently Tico has run off on her several times. She said he knows his way home though, so we left it at that.

(Update 8:30am Sunday….Tico did come home sometime overnight)

Sat and chatted with Katherine for an hour or so, but she had a busy day and was tired. She lent us a movie, Into the Wild, and we watched that in Sherman. It was a long movie, and we didn’t get to bed until midnight.
