I certain looks like it would be an interesting area to explore though.

As of a couple of days ago, it looks like rail travel is out of the question now, at least for a while as the railway line has at least 24 damaged areas due to flooding and some areas the land completely beneath the line washed away and the rails just hanging in mid-air. I hope that they can get it fixed quickly because the railway is basically the town of Churchill's lifeline.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18136052866820208847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171307653508307040.post-32572194045446395572017-06-16T18:22:40.143-04:002017-06-16T18:22:40.143-04:00You can drive to Thompson MB , you can even drive ...You can drive to Thompson MB , you can even drive to Gillam which is even closer to Churchill, however the road from Thompson to Gillam is rather wild they tell me. I haven't gone beyond Flin Flon myself, however I did have a friend who lived in Thompson and drove there. I spent the first 50 years of my life in Manitoba and there are many lovely places to see. The lakes are beautiful and Winnipeg has much to offer in the arts. It was the mosquitoes and the snow that finally drove us to Vancouver Island about 30 years ago.
Elaine on Vancouver Island BC Elaine Mayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00664273716098640045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171307653508307040.post-57894759624207322892017-06-16T13:55:04.829-04:002017-06-16T13:55:04.829-04:00Excellent, thanks for the tip Erin!Excellent, thanks for the tip Erin!Kevin Readhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05795747155781311686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171307653508307040.post-44710018377938304112017-06-16T13:54:31.559-04:002017-06-16T13:54:31.559-04:00I think the nearest you can drive and then hop on ...I think the nearest you can drive and then hop on the train is The Pas, Manitoba.Kevin Readhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05795747155781311686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171307653508307040.post-38297728367092322352017-06-16T13:36:44.676-04:002017-06-16T13:36:44.676-04:00The polar bears are worth every penny you spend .....The polar bears are worth every penny you spend ... even better, stay on the tundra in one of the buggy lodges ... you won't regret it.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08333995679958103393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171307653508307040.post-69123391696136287462017-06-16T11:21:10.815-04:002017-06-16T11:21:10.815-04:00Churchill has been on my list for a long time.
