I’ve been so shocked to read about it’s downfall, especially the local views on it. We actually stayed in the bedrooms of the castle, where the bedroom doors must have been 12ft high, rumoured to be so could ride your horse in! I now feel so privileged to have stayed in the castle and spent 2 wonderful weeks at the hotel and resort. I’m thinking this was about 25 years ago! It must have been beautiful?! It is a shame about the fire. I hope that when they are all finished with the construction that they still keep the "castle" there in some form or another, even if it they just keep it as a ruin but clean it up and make it more stable, it would make for a good photo op.
