It took us 21 hours start to finish. We left at 1:00am Sunday morning and arrived at 11:00pm Sunday night. With a one hour time zone change.
But, we were with Lindsey and family, so there were three drivers, and we took turns, stopping every two or three hours for a pee break, or some food, and to switch drivers.
Of course nobody finds these long drives enjoyable, and Ruth and I wouldn't have done it if they weren't going anyhow. And the only reason they do it is because flight prices in Canada are so ridiculous just now. You can justify flying if it's for only one person, but not with four people. It's far cheaper to drive.

Yesterday's drive, 1,928 kms (1,200 miles).
But, we're here now and we can relax!
And this morning, we met Ralph! Ralph is our daughter's new border collie puppy. Actually, he's five months old now, and he really doesn't look like a puppy anymore! We'll get some photos of Ralph today and post them tomorrow.

And in Canada...

A long family road trip and you all looked happy. I would call your road trip a success.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing pics of Ralph.

It was a success, even Cameron and Sadie were really good for the trip, mind you they are getting older.
DeleteDone the drive to east coast many times. Sometimes straight through. Fun times.
ReplyDeleteWe have done it a number of times ourselves and like you a few times it was straight through. Not the most enjoyable thing to do but sometimes it just has to be done.
DeleteWe just drove from Orangeville ON to North Sydney and then the ferry over to Newfoundland. Great fun
ReplyDeleteYep, that would be a very long drive as well. At least you have time to relax on the ferry. Enjoy Newfoundland!
DeleteThat is a very long drive! Welcome back to Wolfville!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am sure we will have a great week with Lindsey and the family.
DeleteToo bad there's not a short-cut through Maine.
ReplyDeleteYes, that would have made the drive shorter but there isn't., the only real short cut is taking the ferry from Saint John, New Brunswick to Digby, Nova Scotia but it is expensive and busy. It is cheaper to drive around.
DeleteThat wasn't a long drive that was a marathon. I bet there were some good stories and laughs along rhe way.
ReplyDeleteYep, that would be a good way to describe the ride. We did have some laughs but there wasn't a lot of stories, it was actually a little hard to talk where we could all hear each other but the drive did move long nice and smoothly.
