In Cottonwood, we have water rationing (well water) of 60 gallons / person / day. I'm sure I don't use that much in the RV but Jeff (son) is trying to keep his pool healthy (not letting water line fall below tiles) and has 5 acres to worry about catching fire. He's been weed-eating like crazy but the trees and all are water-deprived.mps2343https://www.blogger.com/profile/06059253597064329074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171307653508307040.post-9515321563902479032014-06-15T13:44:02.554-04:002014-06-15T13:44:02.554-04:00Yuk! I love to taste foods, see new plants and trees, mingle with people and have them share their stories and history. My father was called 'Grandson of Zuni' in Navajo. Story is a Navajo family adopted a Jimenez pueblo Indian girl during the wars with Kid Carson. The girl grew up to marry a Zuni in New Mexico. A male off spring half Jimenez and half Zuni married a Navajo girl from Crystal, AZ making one of them my paternal great, great grandfather. I carry the Zuni as my middle name and my father's last name 'Tolly' meaning fair skin in Navajo. I have one surviving Aunt Sadie at 92 who shared the above one day when we visited. My father's side of the family were scattered to different relatives and Aunt Sadie was raised partly in a Catholic orphanage and later lived with her Aunt. My grandmother died giving birth to Aunt Sadie and her father could not care for all the children when he left to distant towns/cities to work. I knew very little about my father until recently when we accidentally encounter Aunt Sadie. She cried and cried when she found out we were her oldest brother's children. She named lots of people with Navajo names but I do not know them....which is very sad.
