Another RV'er giveaway!

When we travel, we like staying with people who are local to the area. That's why we're members of the couchsurfing community for when we are traveling without the motorhome. So when we heard that there was a similar website for people out exploring with their RV, we signed up right away!

And now, the good folks over at Boondockers Welcome have offered us the opportunity to give away one free annual membership so that you too can have a free place to overnight and meet some great local RV people in your travels throughout Canada and the United States!

How does Boondockers Welcome work?

It's easy. You simply browse the map and search through the hundreds of opportunities to find one that is close to where you plan on being for the night. For example, let's choose a location around Syracuse, New York. You bring up the map, and you see right away that's there is one host located right near Syracuse! And a lot of them are located within an hours drive...

You notice right away that the prospective hosts have listed the maximum length of RV that they can accommodate. In this particular situation, the one nearest Syracuse can take any size of RV, so you click on that listing. It then tells you a little more about the people who are offering you a space and what amenities (power, water, sewer dump, wifi etc) might also be available for your use.

And it's all for free!

How good is that? You get to meet people who live in the area who are usually also RV'ers, and you get somewhere to park for a night or two or possibly even longer.

We've used the system a few times now and it's always been a great experience...

Sherman, parked up in a suburb of Phoenix.

You can see Sherman parked up between buildings...just outside of Kingman, AZ.

A full year of membership costs less than what you would typically pay for one night of camping.

And here at Travel with Kevin and Ruth, you can get a FREE membership. And if you're already a member, enter anyhow because you'll get a free one year extension! Simply enter the draw below...

    1. We think it is a great program, especially if you like meeting people that are local to the area and RVer's to boot. :-)

    1. Other than the cost of the membership (unless you win this one) it is totally free and you get to meet some new people, it's hard to lose.

    1. Well if you don't win than you can always buy a year's membership, it would definitely be worth it as long as you use it. We like to meet locals and get their take on the surrounding area and on any "secret" spots that are unknown to the normal traveler.

  6. We only boondock, and have been full time for 3 years. This could come in very handy at times.

  9. All right---I have dutifully returned each of the seven days, and have apparently racked up 112 total entries. By my reckoning, that gives me almost a 1 in 5 chance of winning!
