Wedding #2

Yesterday started off beautiful, but we actually had some clouds move in later in the morning and even had thunder in the afternoon. Saw one or two rain drops, but certainly not enough to say it actually "rained" so we are maintaining our rainless streak that now stands at 11 weeks.

Got our two mile walk around the RV park in yesterday morning.

Walking around the perimeter of the park.

Donkey Hotay out enjoying the morning.

Had a nap in the afternoon, then we went with Barb and Sal to the wedding reception. We skipped the church part of the event this time, and although the other campers were invited I think they had enough noise from the one the evening before! But it wouldn't be like us to miss a fiesta even though this was the third one in less than a week!

This was a much smaller event than the one Thursday night. We figure maybe 200 people, and again a lot of children.

Many of the little girls have their best party dresses on.

Francisco and Cecy. Cecy is Sal's cousin.

Cecy has a twin sister named Susie. Their parents already had six daughters and a son when they decided to try one more time for another boy. Instead, they got twin girls!

The wedding cake was a little bit Mickey Mouse...

The band was not bad until this guy started banging his drum. That was loud!

But not so loud that this little guy couldn't have a nap.

Ruth enjoyed babysitting this little 5 month old while his mother was having her dinner.

Up doing some dancing. If you don't dance at a Mexican wedding, the bride will think you didn't have fun!

Barb and Sal with their dancin' shoes on!

A couple more little ones with their party outfits.

You know the party is getting good when Sal is dancing with a bottle of tequila on his head! And no, he didn't spill a drop!

Had a great time, and still made it home by 10:00pm. Tonight is our pot luck dinner here at Hacienda Contreras. Two more rigs showed up yesterday, so there should be a total of 20 people...should be lots of good food!

Happy New Year everybody!

  2. I was wondering whether you had "good clothes" suitable for a wedding or such. I see my answer.
Some folks do a "purge" when they transition to an RV of whatever type, and then have nothing in the way of even semi formal wear. Shorts and sandals at a funeral or wedding just doesn't cut it. Besides, you know what they say, "Girls go crazy for sharp dressed man".
(OK so, you look pretty snazzy there too, Ruth)

  5. What fun! The little girls' dresses look like 18th century Spanish gowns. Great place for having fun that's clear.
